The public website
The current website has no web accounts, advertising, analytics integration, Firebase runtime access or submission backend. It is generated from a validated public farm dataset. Store badges are not linked until official listing URLs are configured.
Mobile accounts
The mobile app uses Firebase Authentication. Account information includes your email address, Firebase user identifier and chosen display name. An anonymous Firebase session supports guest use, while a persistent account is required for personal activity.
Content and activity you create
Depending on the features you use, Cork & Vine stores tastings and logged wines, vintages, ratings, notes, Favourites, farm check-ins, Wine Day plans, feedback, reviews and Passport-related visit evidence. Reviews use your display name and may be visible to other app users.
Photos
If you choose to add them, tasting and review photos are uploaded to Firebase Storage. The app requests camera or photo-library permission only when you choose those actions.
Location
The app may request foreground location permission for nearby-farm discovery, region maps, directions and Wine Day planning. Permission is requested through the device and can be declined or changed in device settings.
Diagnostics and product analytics
The mobile app can use Sentry for error and performance diagnostics when configured; default personal-information sending is disabled. Cork & Vine also records a limited set of first-party product events, such as farm views, generated plans and Favourite changes, with relevant farm, region or wine identifiers rather than tasting notes or photos.
Service providers and external destinations
The app uses Firebase services for authentication, database records, file storage and trusted backend operations. It can open map providers, farm websites, booking pages and other third-party destinations; their own terms and privacy practices apply.
Retention and deletion
Personal account data remains associated with the account until it is deleted through the in-app process or otherwise removed as part of operating the service. Account deletion removes review and tasting media, reviews, tastings, Favourites, check-ins, Wine Day plans, feedback records, the profile and finally the Firebase Auth identity. If deletion reports a failure, the account remains active and support should be contacted.
Your choices
You can decline optional camera, photo and location permissions, avoid adding optional content, and delete your account from the mobile app. For privacy or general questions, email info@corkandvine.co.za. For app or account support, email support@corkandvine.co.za.
